Prompt #24 " What are The Three Qualities of True Friends?"

 

     True friends… true friends are friends that you feel the most comfortable with. Friends and true friends are different. You could have many friends but you would have a certain amount of true friends, sometimes maybe one or two or three true friends. Today’s prompt is what the three qualities of true friends are. I think the MAIN quality of a true friend is honesty. Friends should never lie to each other. There may be times when a friend could accidentally lie, but a TRUE friend should never lie on purpose. At a time when a friend accidentally lies, that friend should apologize to his or her friend because lying is just not the right thing to do. True friend tell everything to their best friends. I guess best friends are like one’s true friends. I would tell my best friend everything, because I trust my best friend, but once my best friend has lied to me, I would always think two times before telling my best friend anything. Once a friend makes a mistake, he or she would continue to make that same mistake and think it is okay to make that mistake not thinking of how his or her best friend might actually feel or be hurt by it. That true friend would turn into a friend that just takes advantage of the other friend. The most effective thing to break a friendship is by lying. Having no trust in each other leads to so many things like assuming and fighting over things because you would just believe in what others say and not what other people tell you. This does not mean once two friends fight, they cannot become friends again. Fighting could actually make both friends realize how much they think of each other and how much they actually care. It would lead them to realize how stupid they were for fighting about things that were not even worth fighting. This is true friends! <3

                The second quality of a true friend is loyalty. A true friend should never betray your friend in any way. For example, if you were walking and you see your best friend getting beat up by a bunch of popular friends. If you go say something and help your best friend, the popular kids would bully you at school and make your life miserable. If you just ignore all of that and pass by acting like nothing happened, you would have to live with the feeling of regret in your heart that you did not help your best friend. If you run away then call for help, there is a fifty fifty chance that your best friend would be okay.  If you were just a friend, you would either run away or just ignore this situation. TRUE FRIENDS would NEVER leave his or friend behind. (Or getting beat up, or in any situation like that) If the person who was getting hit was my TRUE FRIEND, no matter what is going to happen to me, I would run to my friend and help her or him. If there is a little time before that, I would call for help first because if I go and we both get in danger that would just lead to worse problems.

                The third quality of a true friend is caring. Friends should always care for each other. Not because they HAVE to but because they WANT TO. True friends naturally just care for each other. This is a form of friendly LOVE <3 which can be with a guy and a guy, a guy and a girl, and for a girl and a girl.

PROMPT 23 "What is the Strongest Strength of Human?"

I guess the greatest strength of human is LOVE. Today’s prompt is “What is the greatest strength of human?” and I have chosen LOVE. Love can make a person do anything, from my point of view. Love is the strongest strength of a human. Even though love is the strongest strength of humans, this does not mean that love does not have advantages and disadvantages to it.

Love could cure illnesses, or more specifically, the power of love could cure illnesses. The more love you give and show to a person, the more they feels like they are worth something and tries to become a better person. For people in the hospitals, if it was not for their family and friends who support them to get better and live on, they would simply lose hope and want to die. Showing care and making a person feel like they are special is a big thing for people who are sick. People who are sick lose hope quickly and often think they are just a useless person who is doing harm to their own family by having to waste precious money that the family could be using to pay for other things to pay for the hospital bills. Patients often have the wrong thought that even when they get better and come out of the hospital, they would not be able to make money and always have to have a person look after him or her which would just be a nuisance for the family. For example, in Korea, there was a case where a grandpa and a grandma suicide by jumping off ship. The grandma had an illness where she could not remember the past and acted like a child because she had lost all of her memory. The grandpa and the grandma had been very poor and because of a storm, their house collapsed because of a tree that fell onto the house. From what the news reporters reported, they think that the grandma and grandpa had lost all the hope they had and felt useless so they both commit suicide. They showed a cctv clip where it shows the grandpa helping the grandma fall off of the ship, then he follows the grandma by jumping off too. This is a very depressing story because it was reported that the grandma and grandpa had children, and all of their children were very sad and mad that they could not do anything that would have let their parents to live on. This is because of the lack of love the children showed to their parents. The strength of love could help a person get through the hardest time of their lives.

                There are many stories about how helpless animals are nurtured with love and how they change. Last week, I saw a photo on Facebook where it showed one photo of a dog with skin disease and no hair growing on its body. Then the next photo showed a photo of the SAME dog but this time the dog had a HUGE AMOUNT of hair. There was a paragraph written that was explaining what had happened to this dog. A woman had found her a year ago next to the trash can, looking like a skeleton because it had not eaten anything for days. The woman brought the dog home and took care of the dog and a year after; the dog became healthy and fat. This shows how effective a person’s actions could affect another animal’s life.  The power of love was the main key point that made it possible for the dog to become healthy and happy again. 

PROMPT #22 "Big school or a Small school"

There are SO MANY big schools and SO MANY small schools all over the world. I am in 11^th grade right now and of my school years I have been to both big schools and small schools.  When I was four years old, my family moved to Guam which is an Island in the Pacific Ocean that is right next to a different island called Saipan. My brother and I went to a small school in Guam called Trinity Christian School (TCIS). One grade only had one class because of the small amount of students. Then my family moved to Shanghai, China when I became about 11 years old. In Shanghai I went to three different schools. One was a medium size school and the two other schools were really big schools. For third grade I went to a school called SCIS Shanghai Community International School. (Changmin) I call this school a medium sized school because compared to the small schools I went to, this school was way bigger, but compared to the big schools I went to, this school was really small. For my fourth grade year, I moved to a school called SAS Pudong. (Shanghai American School) In Shanghai there are two different SAS campuses, Pudong and Puxi. Both schools are really good but they are just located in different areas because Shanghai is so big. I lived about 45 minutes away from SAS Puxi and about 1 hour and 50 minutes from SAS Pudong. I went to SAS Pudong for my 4^th grade year because there was no space in SAS Puxi, so for my 5^th grade year I moved to SAS Puxi. When I was in 6^th grade 4^th quarter, my family moved to Saipan. I attended a school called SIS (Saipan International School) in Saipan and I am still attending this school. This school is a small school like the school I went to in Guam. TCIS and SIS only have one class per grade. SCIS has three classes per grade, and lastly SAS has about 6-8 classes for each grade.

If you think about it, there are many advantages and disadvantages about big schools and small schools. Some advantages for a small school could be that you could be real close to the teachers because there are not as many students as there are in a big school. In a small school, you could become very close to the people in your class because they would be the class you will graduate with and spend many years with. Some disadvantages for a small school is that there is only one class. You would have to be friends with everyone in your class, and if for instance something happens, and you fight with someone, you will have no other choice but to go to school with that person or a group of people until you the year you graduate. Another disadvantage is that there are not a variety of classes in a small school to take.

Big schools have a variety of classes where you could choose the classes you want to take, and also extra curriculum classes. Big schools allow you to become social and would give you the chance to meet various people. The disadvantage of a big school is that you would not be able to have a close relationship with the teachers because there would be too many students that the teacher would sometimes not remember your name in some cases. Also, if you were in a small school and you did not understand something in class, you could go and ask the teacher without feeling awkward.

PROMPT # 21 “What Are The Things That I Would Teach and Not Teach To My Children? How Would My Children Do Differently?”

Every parent in the world has their own ways of teaching their children different things. Everyone in the world has different personalities, therefore have many different ways of living. Some things may be important to one family whereas the same thing would not be as important to another family. The NUMBER ONE THING I would teach my children would be to listen and respect people who are older than them. I want my kids to have manners, and be known and kids who are bright and friendly. When I say be respectful and listen to people who are older than my children, I do not mean to do every single thing an older person tells my child to do, but to be respectful. If someone older asks for money or asks to do something that is part of a felony like stealing something or bullying someone, I would not want my kids to do that. I would teach my kids what is right and wrong, and how to get along with various people.

                I do not want my child to be one of those kids who cannot socialize. I want my children to have many friends but to study at the same time. Not a NERD but NOT a JOCK. Just in the middle, like how I am right now. I would teach my children how to talk nicely to elders with respect and how to say “Hello” in a respectful way. I would always remind my kids that they should not use a lot of swear words and that they should always study because that is the key for future success. I understand how hard it is to do sports and have the time to study at the same time, but I know it is not impossible, so I would make my kids study but also do sports so that they would be healthy. From personal experience, I know that doing sports can release stress. I want my children to have a good life where they have time to hang out with their friends, but also the time to study hard and get good grades. If my son or daughter loses in a sport game or fails on a test, I would not get mad and scorn them over and over again, I would let them have their space but later I would explain to them how grades are really important.

                I want my children to be successful when they grow up. I want my kids to be able to keep their heads up and not be looked down by on anyone. I am really competitive, so I always want to win or get good grades. When I get a bad grade, even though I smile and make it look like I’m fine with the grade I got, in my heart I am mad at myself for not knowing the answers and for getting the questions wrong. If my kids inherit my personality, I also want to teach them how to let it out. I do not want my children to have to have so much stress because they take everything in and act lie everything is fine. When things are not going well, or if my child does not like something, I would teach my child how to let his or her feelings out. Having a lot of friends and being popular is not the most important thing of a person’s life. I think that for my children, I would teach them that in high school years, they should really study hard in order to get into a good college, and once they get into a college, I would let them do what they want to, under a certain limit.  

PROMPT #20 “Should SIS Have Uniforms or Not?”

        UNIFORMS! UNIFORMS! UNIFORMS! Today’s topic is if SIS should have uniforms or not. SIS is my school’s name, called Saipan International School. We DO NOT HAVE uniforms at our school right now. From all of the schools I’ve been to, about half of the schools had uniforms. A school called Trinity Christian School in Guam, and a school called Shanghai Community International School. The schools I’ve been to that did not have uniforms were Shanghai American School in China and Saipan International School in Saipan. Exactly two of the schools I’ve been to had uniforms and two schools did not. I do not really care if my school has uniforms or not. I would just wear uniforms if the school tells me to. If they tell me that I could wear anything I want to, then I would just wear anything. There are some kinds of students who are totally against uniforms. If our school got uniforms, they would probably protest and not wear the uniforms even if it becomes a mandatory thing.

I would not protest and make posters against uniforms, because I do not really care. But what I DO CARE ABOUT if the uniforms are really ugly. If they make a uniform and it is really ugly, then I would probably protest to change the design, but not to exempt the uniform entirely. I think that there aren’t just disadvantages of uniforms but also advantages. The advantage could be that no one would be looked down on or bullied because of what they wear. People say that by having uniforms students would have to pay more because they would have to pay for the uniforms they wear. This is a misunderstood statement because by having uniforms, you would not have to buy clothes every day to wear to school. You go to school five days a week and so you would not need as many clothes as you did before you had uniforms. Also some students do not have the money to buy a lot of clothes so they would just wash their clothes overnight and wear it the next day. Students at school always bully and laugh at the person who does that. Some bad things about uniforms are that if you have them it could really compare people. If the school has uniforms, the students would be compared. If a girl is really fat and ugly and there is a girl who is really skinny and pretty, the fat girl would be bullied upon because she is fat. They could tease her of how the really skinny girl looks so pretty in the uniforms but the fat girl looks really UGLY AND FAT.

                A good point that people make to have no uniforms is that if there are no uniforms, they could express their style by what they wear. Students say that they should not have uniforms because they want to express their own style instead of having to wear the same clothes as everyone else. THE POINT THAT PARENTS MAKE is that if uniforms are not mandatory, students wear anything they want to. The bad part of wearing anything they want is that some girls wear inappropriate clothes. Some high school girls wear really short pants or shirts that show too much skin. Parents of younger ages DO NOT LIKE THIS because there was a time when one of a young student in elementary school went home and told his mom that he saw high school girl’s butts. This is a big reason why there should be uniforms, but if teachers prevent those girls from wearing really short pants and shirts then the school should not have uniforms. SIS should NOT have uniforms because there are no girls who wear shorts that show their butts and shirts that show their breasts.

PROMPT #19 "If I Could Bring Nack One Person From Dead, Who Would He or She Be and What Would I Serve For Dinner?"

      Today’s prompt is “If I Could Bring Back One Person From Dead, Who Would He or She be and What Would I Serve For Dinner?” If I could bring anyone I want from the dead, I would bring my grandpa. My grandma and grandpa on my mom’s side are both alive, but on my dad’s side, my grandpa passed away about three years ago, when I was in seventh grade. At the moment in seventh grade when I got the message delivered to me by my mom, I was not sad, but mad. I was at school, and as I was walking to P.E. class I saw my mom in the parking lot. I did not even THINK that she would tell me that my grandpa passed away. She came up to me and told me that grandpa had just pasted away. When I saw her face, it was bloated because she had cried so much. When I heard about the news, the first thing that came up to my mind was HALLOWEEN. In two days, it would be Halloween, and I had plans with my friends. We reserved a hotel room at World Resort, which is a water park in Saipan. My best friend, Sophia and I were going to stay there after the Halloween party at school. Now I think of it, I was so stubborn and stupid for thinking about Halloween and being sad that I would not be able to play when I should be worrying and mourning about my grandpa. Once I got to Korea, my mind changed entirely. I was really mad at myself for thinking of Halloween when I heard my grandpa passes away. I looked at my grandpa’s photo, and I started to regret about everything I thought. Even though I thought it to myself, I felt like I was so STUPID for even THINKING about Halloween when I should be thinking about my grandpa.

                My grandpa hurt his leg so he could not walk. There was an incident when I was a sixth grader when I was just standing and my grandpa threw a water bottle at my face. I cried that day, and my grandma told me that grandpa is just stressed and that she was sorry. I did not like that my grandma said sorry to me. My grandma had to help my grandpa with everything, and whenever I went to Korea for the summer, I was always mad of how my grandpa treated my grandma. My grandpa had diabetes so he was not allowed to eat sweets. The problem was that his favorite food was sweet things. My grandpa always called my grandma to bring him sweets, but my grandma always said no because it is really bad for him. I would really like my grandpa to come back to life, because first of all, I want to apologize to him. I want to apologize and explain how when he died I was only in seventh grade, and that I was really stubborn and dumb. As an apology, I want to make the most delicious dinner in the world for the day he comes back to life. I also want to call my grandma and my family so that they could see our grandpa. I would buy all the sweets and order yummy food and also make a lot of different kinds of food he liked to eat when he was alive. I MISS YOU GRANDPA !!!!!

PROMPT #18 “Playing Computer Games is a Waste of Time and Should Not be Allowed. Do You Agree or Disagree?”

Today’s prompt is if playing computer games is a waste of time. I don’t really like playing computer games so I believe that computer games is a waste of time and should not be allowed. Technology has improved so much these days that it scares me of how children’s lives are being affected significantly. There was one time when I went into a room with a whole group of kids. Everything the kids were talking about was about computer games. Every single kid was talking of how they got an item in this game or how they spent all night trying to accomplish a level. They talked about how some of them begged their mom to put in cash so that they could get items that you could not get unless you pay real cash. Some of the kids were planning of what time and what day they were going to meet in the game at home. When I was little I ran around outside and played outside, interacting with other kids that I have never seen before. Whoever was in the playground became my friend, and that was a very good way of improving my social life. That made my personality better and also my health better. Now children are not playing outside. They are not running around or playing in the playground like how children did years ago. It is very unhealthy for kids to just stay at home and play computer games all day. This does not only affect a child’s health but also affects their hearing and eyesight. The more a child plays computer games, the more that child’s eye sight and hearing becomes bad. If you see carefully, a child who plays computer games all day and a child who runs around outside and is active have totally different personalities. A child who plays computer games all day does not have the chance to learn how to interact with other children. They lack in the knowledge of interacting with others, they only have the thought of playing games and winning in games. The children who play outside learn how to interact with other children. In the future, kids who have played outside rather than playing computer games live a better life in the society. Children who only played computer games have difficulty fitting in society.

            Even though I believe playing computer games is a very unhealthy and something that is just a waste of time for children, I play CANDY CRUSH. That is the only game I play. When everyone else played games, I did not understand why it was so fun and addicting. When everyone played games, I watched drama. I am really a drama fan, especially KOREAN DRAMA, but now I feel like I should stop watching drama because I should concentrate on my studies. The only computer game that was actually fun for me is TETRIS and CANDY CRUSH. Another reason I do not like computer games is because I am really bad at the. RIGHTNOW I am a fan of CANDY CRUSH! I think this is the only game that I have played whenever I get bored. I have it as an APP on my phone. That is the only game that is on my phone. ANYWAYS, even though games are a waste of time, I do not think it should be eliminated. People could release their stress by playing games. If that is a way to release someone’s stress, then I believe that it is a good thing for computer games to exist, but I believe that CHILDREN should not only play computer games and should go outside and interact more with other people.
